The first time I went to NY was in November of 2005. I stayed in NYC as a good friend was attending NYU. Around the same time the following year I was fortunate enough to go back but haven’t been back since, despite always wanting to! New York is one of those places that’s always on my mind thanks to social media, television, news, etc. So much happens there. Well, I’m finally going back, and in the spring and this time to Brooklyn! I came across some filmed that I shot the first time I went, and decided to can this image of the NYC skyline. Any suggestions on things I should do/see are welcome! I like photos, flowers, and skylines like these the most.
There’s a place here in Sacramento called Fairytale Town, inspired by Humpty Dumpty, Mother Goose, The Old Woman in the Shoe, and tons more story classics. They have a few fabulous gardens scattered through out the vicinity (the alphabet garden was my favorite), lots of slides for the kids, and animals (including goats!!)!
Fairytale town has a very clear rule upon entry: “Adults must be accompanied by children”. Due to this rule, I have never had the opportunity to attend this Sacramento children’s attraction due to age(talk about discrimination! I’m just a kid at heart) and not having kids. Well, when your best pal on the planets day job is taking care of two adorable kiddos, what do you do? Go on a field trip with them to Fairytale Town!
We had a blast voyaging through the park, chasing ducks, hanging out with The Cheese Stands Alone. What a terrific day! Lucky for me I got to snap away! Here are my favorites from the day!
Thanks to a new friend, I recently found out that April is National Letter Writing month! How amazing, that in this world of instant communication and technology, there is a month devoted to snail mail! I love writing notes and letters, but probably not as much as I love receiving them! I check my mail box daily, and when I see my name hand written on an envelope, my heart melts just a bit.
I have combined my love for photography and snail mail by creating photo note cards! A set of cards includes 8 different images. Cards are blank on the inside and include envelopes, so you can use them for whatever purpose you please! Say “thank you” on pen and paper, give sympathies, just say “hi!”. These multifunctional cards are bound to make someones day!
In honor of letter writing month, I am selling sets of 8 cards and envelopes for only $10 and shipping is only 1¢! Click here to check ’em out!
Bright colors, chickens, beautiful flowers- just a few things I love!
It’s been Spring for nearly three weeks now. I have thoroughly enjoyed the recent blooms, and am looking forward to seeing more changes and of course what’s to come! I shot this using a 35mm Canon FT Camera, and by the time I finished shooting the roll, got it developed, and scanned the negatives, the magnolias has already fallen and are now possessed by leaves! It’s crazy how quickly these blooms come and go!!! I’m glad I captured lovely magnolias on film this year! Alright, I’ve gotta go back to work! I took a long weekend from posting photos, but of course I’ve got zillions to share! 😀
